A Quick Thank-You
For realsies.
Heya folks.
This is a quick reminder that Stuff Keeps Happening will be on a short break as I head out on a vacation for a few days. The normal schedule will resume next Wednesday, July 19th.
I've been having a great time putting together Stuff Keeps Happening and I wanted to thank you all for being here and supporting my work. I have no idea what the future will really look like, but I hope to be making stuff that y'all will enjoy for a long time to come.
I have made a huge leap in my life, taking a chance on my own dang self for the first time like, ever. I was—up until very recently—only ever a salaried employee of tech companies, most recently in the Silicon Valley space, and after over a decade of working in tech, my soul was just aching. I was burnt out and disheartened by my own industry and increasingly, I wanted to start finding ways to use my techiness to bring some kind of good to the web rather than just keep contributing to what I believe is the wrong way to go about Doing The Internet Thing.
And so here we are at the start of something totally unknown. I dunno what my life will look like in the next few years after I have basically just yeeted myself out of the tech industry entirely and into the world of content and online community shenanigans.
The fact that anyone has signed up to read what I have to say is humbling. The fact that some people have even signed up for paid subscriptions here is mind boggling.
All I know is that I'm gonna keep trying to do good shit, and I am ever-so-grateful for you, dear reader. Thank you. Truly.
